It is a requirement in British Columbia for couples getting married to obtain a marriage licence. Bride or groom must make application in person and 19 years of age at any government Agent office in BC or at certain Notary Publics. A fee is charged and proper identification is required. The licence is usually provided immediately upon application.
If you haven’t taken care of the government issues at the Department of Vital Statistics Agency in the province, you can obtain a marriage licence for $100.00 at the Marriage Licence Issuer office located at 101- 1475 Ellis Street. Kelowna BC V1Y 2A3, telephone 250 712-7562. You will have your choice of several marriage commissioners, plus ministers who can lead the ceremony in the Okanagan Valley.
